Job Details GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position carries outpatient treatment program, or portions thereof, as planned and supervised by the primary physical therapist. Responsible for the patient's personal care and environment throughout the time of treatment. Follows established procedures and observes safety precautions in the applications of physical therapy modalities and procedures. Carries out treatment utilizing any additional physical therapy equipment or techniques for which adequate competency has been demonstrated. Observes patient condition, reaction, and responses. Reports information to the supervising physical therapist and keeps accurate progress notes in the patient's medical record, handles a variety of administrative and clerical responsibilities. General directions and priorities are set by the Manager. May also provide administrative and clerical support to non-management professionals within the department. In addition, as assigned, will provide athletic training duties field-side for contracted school districts. These will include, but are not limited to: pre-season athletic screenings, preparation for games/events, identification of injury and immediate first aid, and ability to inform coach/parent of athlete's physical readiness to return to play.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Edcuation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Must be a graduate of a baccalaureate program in athletic training, health, physical education, or exercise science.
* Must be able to function in a non-traditional setting.
* ARC/AHA CPR instructor.
Required Length and Type of Experience
* One year in a clinical setting and/or three to five years of athletic training experience, preferably in health care.
Required Licensure, Certification, or Registry
* Current license through OT/PT/ATC board for the practice of athletic training in the State of Ohio.
* Certification as an Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association.
* Teaching certification from the State of Ohio.
